Crested newt

A crested newt in a pool of water in the Black Forest. For six years between 2006-2012 I followed the development of frogs, toads and newts on the Sommerberg plateau. When I returned in 2018 I noted that every year since then and probably earlier, there had been a sharp decline in rain and snow during winter, which has led to all the spawn from these creatures dying in Spring due to a lack of water.
