This photo was shot through a train window as we descended towards Lake Geneva and Lausanne station in Switzerland. On a more recent nighttime trip (2019) it felt like being in an aircraft coming in to land. The train from Basel makes a steep descent to Lausanne station and the distant twinkling lights of towns and villages surrounding the lake create one of the most spectacular train journeys I have ever experienced.
