A friend (photo) and I on our way to crossing the French-Italian border (3000m) in the hope of climbing the Gran Paradiso. However after summiting the 3000m border and descending down into an Italian valley, exhaustion beat us to it, so after a short rest we returned to Val d'Isere in France.
