Ewe

A mountain ewe in the Black Forest and one of a flock that I looked after for many years, while living in the Black Forest. These hardy sheep could easily fend for themselves, despite the steep, rough terrain where they spent much of their time. Their long woolly coats kept them warm during the hardest winters and they lived happily outside, despite weeks of snow and sub-zero temperatures.
