An egret in Taichung park, Taiwan, stands on a concrete bollard surveying the nearby lake. A lake full of koi carp and terrapins. I have never seen one spear a carp here, but the large size of the fish would certainly be no deterrent. Apart from egrets, the lake edge is popular with night herons and ducks.
