This was an initial attempt to redesign the Citroen 2CV (top image) first shown at the 1948 Paris show. The simple construction of this classic French car was its main feature and it was said that the brief was to design a car capable of carrying a bowl of eggs across a field without breaking them. This led to the car's super soft suspension and its unnerving habit of feeling like it would tip over when cornering. Nevertheless it was a great success and loved by many. Unlike many classic cars it has never been replaced after production stopped in 1990, which is a pity as I think there is still a place for such a car in todays' market.
